Taking action seems to have been the theme for my last two posts and it has carried over into this one. Indecision and inaction are the biggest blocks that most people have to reaching their goals. It can be scary when you don’t know that to do. What I have found, though, is that if you just start taking action, no matter how small, things will start to happen.
Admittedly, it’s been something that has been coming up for me lately too as I step into new territory with developing my latest training program (more on that soon).
For some, inaction shows up as planning. Meaning, you are planning out your next step or evaluating the options. So you are kind of doing something, but still not doing anything that will get you results. Remember results only come from action, not planning.
The question is how do you know when it’s time to stop planning and act?
When you are spending all of your time wondering what will go wrong or what happens if it doesn’t work. You will not know until you try.
It fascinates me that we spend so much time planning, wondering and worrying about what will go wrong, and yet little or no time on what we will do when it goes right.
What will you do when your new marketing plan is wildly successful or when you nail that next client meeting and get the business? For most the response is “I don’t know, but I’ll figure it out”.
So stop wasting time stressing over negative things that probably won’t happen anyway. Either way you will figure it out, but you don’t know until you act.
