Child Care, House Cleaners, Personal Chefs, What Are Your Support Systems?
The personal chef may be a stretch, but what systems do you have in place at home to help you succeed in your business? The reality is that no one can do it all themselves so stick to what you are good at and outsource the rest. Spending 3 hours with a client is time much better spent than 3 hours dusting and vacuming. I realize that it all needs to be done, but maybe not by you.
How do you feel about the child care options that you have for your children? The reality is that we can not be there all the time for our children but if you have an option that you feel really good about it makes it much easier to focus on the task at hand when you are working. We have done it all in our house from a nanny to baby sitters to daycares and pre schools. Just like everything else with children, as they grow and change what worked yesterday doesn’t neccessarily work today. We had a nanny in the beginning which was great, but after a while the boys started to get antsy because they needed more interaction with other kids. So we switched to a daycare / preschool environment and now they run in the front door every day excited to be with their friends.
What are your best secrets for getting things done at home so that you can be focused when you are at work?

Whatever you believe to be true is what you’ll find evidence of in your daily life. I was reminded of this yesterday. It was August 8th. A big day in the energy world. It’s a day to set intentions, manifest and connect to the Universe. Basically, a day to go full Woo. But I didn’t…

I love the Olympics! The stories, the athletes, the events, all of it! It’s as inspiring as it is entertaining. Staying focused for me is about starting out my day right. A good start for me includes conditioning my mind and my body.
Every morning, the first thing I do is walk my dogs. While walking I say my gratitudes out loud. (Sometimes I think my neighbors must laugh…there goes the dog lady who talks to herself). My gratitudes may be lofty like “I’m grateful for my health, my family, my business, etc.” or they may be light like “I’m grateful for that really good salad dressing I just bought.” But doing this every day forces me to get my mind in the right place, and to be positive. This technique has often lifted me out of a funk or the beginning of a bad mood.
After my walk, it’s mommy mode for an hour, while I get my six year old daughter fed, bathed, dressed and ready for school. Once she is out the door, I exercise. My workout varies according to my work load, but I try to do something for my body each day.
I have found that conditioning my mind AND my body are key to my success.
