What Are You Reading?

If we will be the same tomorrow as we are today except for the places we go, the people we meet and the books we read, what are you reading today to affect who you will be tomorrow?

Here are some of my favorites:

~ The Master Key System by Charles Haanel (great tools and exercies for focusing)
~ Success Principles by Jack Canefield (a fairly thick book, but easy ready and a great resource for ideas)
~ One Small Step Can Change Your Life by Robert Maurer (small steps really do have a huge impact)
~ The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell (very interesting on how things work)
~ Now Discover Your Strenghts byt Marcus Buckingham (learn how to make the most of what you’ve got and stop beating yourself up for what you don’t)
~ The Power of Full Engagement by Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz (back to that focus thing)
~ The Richest Man in Babylon by George Clason (a great and easy read)

    Nicole,
Thanks Soooo much for putting together this blog. Today was a typical Ninja Mom day for me and it was NOT stressful. I have two teenage daughters whom both have Mononucleosis and are out of school until January. Today was a bad day…won’t go into the gory details…but I had my notes done right away, still was able to make three calls and sent out invitations to my open house this weekend, PLUS, I am listing two properties this week and have three buyers I am working with. Since I KNOW what I have to have done each week to keep my business going, it was not stressful today, even though I ended up working from home and even doing some of my tasks while I was at the doctor’s office. I LOVE ninja techniques!

    Vicki,

You are a rock star Ninja Mom! Way to go on keeping it all together and staying on track. You mentioned that you got it done because you had to. Do you have any special tricks that you use throughout the day to make sure you are on track with getting things done?

May 30, 2025

I’ll admit it, I’m not great at asking for help. Even when I know I need it. There are a variety of reason I struggle with asking: I’m busy and taking a step back to asses what I can outsource feels like one more task I don’t have time for. The task is something I’m…

Today is my birthday. For me, birthdays are a beautiful mix of celebration, anticipation and reflection. This post is dedicated to reflections. Things I wish I could tell my younger self. Imposter syndrome is normal! You’ve spent so much time doubting yourself. Feeling like everyone else knows what they are doing while you’re still trying…

Managing the Adrenaline / Emotional Roller Coaster of Real Estate

March 21, 2025

Closings, getting mutual on a contract, receiving a referral – there are lots of wins in real estate. Each one brings a shot of adrenaline that feels amazing. However, those moments are often short lived, with a lot of space in between. If you aren’t careful that space can fill with self doubt, insecurity or…

Why Proving Yourself Is A Bad Idea

March 14, 2025

I competed on a listing this week that I didn’t get. It was a great one too – awesome house, great clients. It was one I really wanted. When I got done pouting I took a few minutes to ask myself, ‘where did it go wrong’? Our first appointment was amazing! The second one, not…

‘The first step towards change is awareness. The second step is acceptance. Don’t Try To Catch Up – Just Start Where You Are

February 28, 2025

I’ve spent the last few days in Virginia at my favorite real estate conference, Genuine Hustle, where I had the honor of presenting a session on asking powerful questions. It’s the most authentic, vulnerable, supportive and all around amazing group of agents that I’ve ever spent time with. They haven’t released the location or dates…

This Phone Call Brings In The Most Referrals

February 23, 2025

Can calls really translate into referrals? Are some more effective than others? When we work with clients it’s easy to go into ‘get it done’ mode. We focus on getting from contract to closing as quickly and smoothly as possible. And to be fair, that’s a big part of what our clients hire us to…
