Do You Feel Like You Are The Only One Struggling?

Whenever business is slow I always feel like I am the ONLY one having a hard time.  Every one else seems to be buzzing around the office with all sorts of activity and I feel like I am being left behind. I was on a training call with a group of people yesterday and we were working with a marketing coach.  Everyone was checking in at the beginning of the call and each person seemed to be having great breakthroughs as a result of the class.  When it was my turn to check in I was honest and said that I was having a hard time diving in to the materials because I am working on developing some new mentorship programs and I’m really uncomfortable right now.  It’s all new territory and I can’t see the bigger picture right now to know exactly where it will lead.  I know in my heart that I can get there, but for someone who usually has things pretty well mapped out it is very uncomfortable to not know how this is all going to play out.   It is also hard to listen to everyone else soar in their business when I feel like I am floundering.  I am committed to not giving up.  I will stay in the discomfort and keep moving forward knowing that clarity is on it’s way.  The funny thing is that as soon as I acknowledged that I am uncomfortable everyone else started chiming in that they feel the SAME way.  It actually took the call to a new level because now we had the chance to be honest rather than posturing the whole time about how great we are. Struggling is a Good News / Bad News / Good News thing. The first Good News: We ALL struggle.  Just at different times.  You are not alone. Bad News: Struggle is inevitable if you are committed to any type of growth and change in your life.  I’m not implying that life is hard and you should get used to everything sucking all the time.  I’m talking about the fact that we are all human and as our lives evolve there are things we need to work through. More Good News: Do not give up.  In the moment it may feel impossible, but moving past the struggle may be easier than you realize.  Reach out to a friend or colleague for ideas and support.  Commit to showing up every day 100% and working through it.  Commit to being uncomfortable for a while.  Try a new approach.  Invest in yourself, take a class or hire a coach to get you through it.  Admittedly when we are struggling it is hard to see the next step.  Having someone else there to guide you can make it easier to move through it. How do you work through your struggles?  Leave a comment in the section below and let me know your favorite tricks for when you are struggling. Wishing you much success! Nicole

The year has officially begun. New listings are popping up everywhere. I haven’t sold anything yet. It’s common for my year to start a little slow. My business typically ramps up in April. In the past, my confidence would tank as I compared myself to others. This year is different. Some of this comes from…

What To Do When Everyone Else Is Winning – And You Aren’t

First, I’d say – you’re being way too hard on yourself. It’s more likely that you’ve had wins, and missed them. This came up in my Proof It’s Working (PIW) group this week. What do you do when it feels like nothing is working, and you don’t see any wins? Step 1: Redefine what Proof…

We assume that success comes in big waves. We search endlessly for the one thing that will unlock the door to whatever it is we want. But, that’s not how success works. Reacting vs Creating: Which Mode Are You In?

January 16, 2026

How you show up and respond to life has a greater impact than we often realize. Are you constantly in reaction mode throughout the day? If so, you are essentially giving your power away. Letting outside forces determine what happens in your life, how you feel, and the impact things have. Or Do you wake…

3 Things That Make The Biggest Difference In My Business

January 9, 2026

The topic of the week has been goals and business planning. Nancy and I released a new podcast episode around goals. If your relationship with goal setting is ‘complicated’ this episode is for you. When it comes to business planning, I’m a big pictures person. Drilling down to small details stresses me out. Instead I…

Let 2026 Be The Year You Let Go Of What’s Possible

January 2, 2026

I don’t have a singular word for 2026. Instead I have a mantra: Let Go Of What’s Possible. How often do you set an intention, even a small one, and then instantly run it through the filter of what’s possible? That one word – possible – takes you down the rabbit hole of – are…

My Favorite New Years Traditions

December 30, 2025

I absolutely love New Years Eve and New Years Day. There is something special about flipping the page from one year to the next. It’s a time to honor what has happened, and lean into the joy and excitement of what’s to come. While we usually do something New Years Eve, I’m not a big…

3 Things I’m Doing Differently This Holiday Season

December 19, 2025

I love the last 2 weeks of the year – sorta. The holidays are beautiful and spazzy all at the same time. I love Christmas with the family, and getting together with friends. Yet December can leave me feeling depleted, and like I’m spinning in circles going no where. It’s an interesting time for a…
