Give Yourself a Grace Period
I confess. In the past, I have been guilty of packing way too much into a day. I would race around from one appointment to the next with barely 5 minutes to return a phone call, let alone get a glass of water or find something to eat. I often ended the day ravenously hungry and a bit frazzled.
Last week, I was chatting with a good friend and she was talking about the same thing. She had scheduled three client appointments back-to-back with no margin for error on timing. We both laughed at how silly it is to put so much pressure on ourselves.
It does not serve us, or our clients.
I get it. I have felt the stress of knowing that you are over committed, but also feeling like there isn’t anywhere else you can find the time to get it done.
I have found that, when you are in this state, it is very difficult to stay focused and be effective in any area of your life. You actually make things worse because you do not leave yourself enough time to fully finish a meeting or complete a project. All of a sudden everything is taking much longer with less results. Success comes from creating space for things to happen….to truly connect with your clients…to fully think through a scenario and come up with a solution.
For every appointment, give yourself a little more time than you think you need and see how it changes your stress levels and the relationships with your clients.
If all of this sounds good in theory but you seriously question how it works in reality, join us for the Turbo Charge Your Business Workshop and I’ll show you how.
