It’s the day after Thanksgiving, and whether you’re deep into Black Friday shopping, or at the gym working off that extra slice of pie, there’s no denying that this is a busy time of year.
This year, I invite you to give yourself the gift of Grace. Perhaps in the GlassyBaby form, like the one pictured above, but more importantly the literal form of grace.
We are quick to grant it to others, but often slow to allow it for ourselves.
Know that you are enough exactly as you are.
For me, some years the holidays feel like a magical time of parties, time spent with family and experiencing the wonder of the world, all the while feeling grateful for the year that has passed and the excitement of possibility for the year to come.
Other times the holidays feel overwhelming and like something I would rather opt out of. Putting my head in the sand, and waiting to resurface in January.
No matter where you are on the continuum, allow yourself the grace to “feel the feels” as a good friend would say. The good and the bad. You are not alone, and now more than ever is a time to honor what is important to you. It is in acknowledging where we are, and the emotions that come with it that we reclaim our power to create something new going forward.
Decide what you want the holidays to look like. Maybe you just pick one special event to celebrate, rather than filling your schedule with dozens of activities that stress you out.
Make this year, the year you do what you want to, rather than what you should do.
