This comes up a lot. Agents get stuck in the “get ready to get ready” phase of business. Thinking it has to be perfect, or that they have to be perfect in order to be successful.
And so they spin in circles.
Their marketing isn’t perfect. They need one more class before they can go out there. Their systems aren’t quite right.
They feel like an imposter and are terrified that their clients will find out.
We’ve all been there. Even after 23 years of helping clients buy and sell houses I still remember the early days of my career when I was terrified to go on an appointment. Afraid they would look at me and wonder why on earth I was at their house and what could I possibly have to offer.
But here’s the deal. You don’t have to be perfect and all knowing to be worthy of success. You don’t need to have all of the answers to have your clients trust and value your help.
Even with years of experience – the market continues to shift, as does technology. But some things never change:
- Clients want to know that you believe in what you do
- That you have their best interest at heart
- That you will figure it out
Always remember: Imperfect action beats perfect planning.
So get out there. Know that you are worthy of your success, and you have the skills to help your clients.
