Longer days and sunny skies mark the shift so summer routines and I’m so ready to mix things up.
Once school gets out the energy shifts in our house. It’s more free flowing and a lot less structured. I love that the focus is more about fun and play than checking things off the list, but for sanity’s sake, it’s good to keep a little structure. Hence, the summer edition of my morning routine.
For me it’s about how can I make my regular tasks feel more fun and less like a chore.
Here are some ideas to keep you on track this summer, and enjoying the season.
- Take it outside: Just like journaling and reading by the fire makes me happy in Winter, sitting on the deck with a cup of tea, listening to the birds and feeling the cool morning air while writing my affirmations makes me happy right now.
- Screens down, books up: I love the convenience of having books on my phone, but nothing beats the feeling of reading an actual book while sitting in an Adirondack chair. If you are looking for a new read, check out The Connection Method by local author and branding genius Kelsey Kurtis.
- Take an evening walk: One of the best things about life in the PNW are the longer days in the summer. It’s almost like getting 2 days in one with the extra daylight. I love the laziness of summer mornings and don’t always get my workout in, so the evening is a great time to get out for a walk.
What about you? How do you keep yourself on track during the summer?
To your success!
