As we roll into the holidays and the new year, it’s a good time to chat about time and how we do our planning.
Some holiday seasons I treasure. They are filled with special moments, deep connection and a whole lot of gratitude. Others are a whirlwind and 1/2 way through I realize I’m just trying to make it to January so that I can take a nap.
The same can go for the year as a whole. Sometimes the year is filled with lots of great adventures and others, it’s just another 365 days checked off the list.
The deciding factor in both scenarios? Planning time off vs waiting until it ‘seems like a good time’.
I’ve done it both ways, and I’m here to tell you from experience, life is better when you plan your time off ahead of time. And, I can virtually guarantee that your income will be the same, or better than if you don’t take time off. Yes, things will come up when you are trying to get out of town. You will figure it out.
So this week’s planning challenge is to schedule some fun and time off. Start with a day, then a weekend and then a week.
Put it on your calendar now, block out the time, buy the tickets, book the hotel.
You deserve this. Your body needs it. Your relationships require it.
Have some fun! It’s the whole reason we are here.
To your success!
