A Common Misconception About Gratitude

Gratitude

It wouldn’t be November without a gratitude post. Specifically the energy of gratitude.

There’s a funny misconception about gratitude as it relates to ‘what you focus on expands’ and setting goals for the coming year that are different from what you accomplished this year. I see a lot of people afraid to be grateful for what they have because they worry that it is all they will ever have. They worry the if they are happy now it’s sending a signal to the Universe that what they have is enough and that the Universe will turn its attention elsewhere.

This fear gets in there and muddies the water and without even realizing it, your energy is off. Ever have that feeling when you are goal setting or business planning that there is something holding you back? That you are going through the motions and filling out the worksheets but not really connecting with your goals for next year.

It’s more common than you think.

Enter a reframe on gratitude.

Yes, gratitude is ABSOLUTELY about being happy where you are right now.

But there is more to it. Gratitude recognizes that you are in receiving mode. Clients, sales, income, time spent with people you love, a great meal shared with friends, a trip that creates lasting memories. There are infinite reasons to be grateful every day. They all count from the small and mundane to the big and life changing. The Universe acknowledges your gratitude, not the magnitude of the thing that you are grateful for.

And so as you expand and deepen your gratitude, you acknowledge all of the wonderful things coming into your life and send a message to the Universe that you are able to receive more.

And with that knowledge you are able to ask for more with the confidence that it will come.

So each time you take a moment to be grateful take one more to acknowledge that you received something in that moment. It’s a subtle nuance that can make a big difference.

Curious to know the other small but profound shift in your energy that impact your business success? Mark your calendar for Wednesday November 30th from 9:30-11am for the Energy of Business planning. Registration will start next week.

With gratitude,
Nicole

Closings, getting mutual on a contract, receiving a referral – there are lots of wins in real estate. Each one brings a shot of adrenaline that feels amazing. This Phone Call Brings In The Most Referrals

Can calls really translate into referrals? Are some more effective than others? When we work with clients it’s easy to go into ‘get it done’ mode. We focus on getting from contract to closing as quickly and smoothly as possible. And to be fair, that’s a big part of what our clients hire us to…
