Awesome Mommy Moment
I have a gratitude journal that I write in every evening. It is part of my nightly ritual, I get into bed and write down at least 5 things that I am grateful for that day. Somewhere along the way it got nicknamed the ‘Happy Book’. The other night when I was putting Alex to bed I gave him a kiss, told him I loved him and tthat I was going to write in my ‘Happy Book’. He said, ‘When do I get to write in the Happy Book’? So I figured what the heck, why not. Alex came into our room, snuggled in bed with me and proceeded to write in my book that he was grateful for playing baseball that day. Talk about making my heart melt! It has been three days and now we have a new nightly ritual. Before he climbs into his bed, he climbs into ours and we write in the happy book together. I have saved all of my gratitude journals thus far, but this one will go in an extra special spot. It makes me smile to open it up each night now and see his handwriting in there next to mine.
A very good mommy moment in deed.
