What If You Already Are The Person You Want to Become?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.
Anytime we set a goal it’s about creating something new or different in our lives. Which creates a disconnect. Where we are now is different from where we want to be.
Setting goals or seeking change is common. We are always growing, changing and evolving. Yet the space between where we are and where we want to be can feel awkward and uncertain. Will we get from point A to point B? What will it take? How long will the journey be?
So many opportunities for doubt to come in.
What if we shifted our focus, from bridging the gap, to being the result?
Meaning, what if we took a step back and got really clear on the version of us that we want to become and started acting from that perspective?
Let’s say your goal is to double your income…
If you focus on the actions to get you there, what comes up? Overwhelm at doing more? Uncertainty about if it will work and if you’re doing the right things? So many opportunities to get side tracked and not follow through.
But what if you sat for a bit and got really clear on the version of you that was already doing that level of business. What would they be doing? How would they show up? What would be different about their thoughts and actions?
Could you step into that version of yourself today and start thinking and acting that way?
Give it a try. See what comes up. Do you feel more confident? Is it easier to commit?
Change is about taking one step at a time. Keep moving forward knowing that each step gets you closer and offers valuable information.
Know that you can accomplish any goal you set for yourself.
