Embrace The Plot Twist
Ever have those moments when your well laid out plans and carefully crafted intentions get knocked off track?
- The seller who half way through prepping their house decides it’s not the right time to move.
- The buyer who writes 3 offers that don’t get accepted and then gets a new job – out of state.
- The repeat client you thought was a sure thing, only to have them work with someone else because they charged a lower fee.
- The closing that gets delayed because of financing.
We’ve all been there. The question is:
- Do you easily pivot, knowing that something equal or better is waiting for you? Or….
- Does it derail you and send you into a funk that lasts for a couple of weeks?
It’s frustrating when stuff like this happens. Especially when it affects your income.
It’s part of running a business though. Not everything goes as planned. The impact it has all depends on how you view it.
Enter the plot twist.
You know that part in the movie where things take a completely different turn – and work out so much better?
What if every time something doesn’t go as expected you thought:
“Plot twist! This is not what I expected, but I’m excited to see what new and better thing takes it’s place.”
Keep your focus moving forward and looking for new opportunities. Rehashing what went wrong only keeps you stuck.
