What To Do When Everyone Else Is Winning – And You Aren’t

Energy before mindset

First, I’d say – you’re being way too hard on yourself. It’s more likely that you’ve had wins, and missed them.

This came up in my Proof It’s Working (PIW) group this week.

What do you do when it feels like nothing is working, and you don’t see any wins?

Step 1: Redefine what Proof It’s Working means

We tend to focus on the obvious wins:

  • A referral
  • A listing going under contract
  • A closing

Those count, but they are far from the only proof.

There are dozens of smaller moments that lead up to the big wins that matter just as much.

  • Being fully present in a conversation and hearing what the other person has to say
  • The ability to take time off, and trust that your business will be okay
  • Enjoying the beauty of the world around you – the full moon earlier this week was gorgeous!
  • A good nights sleep that leaves you ready for the day
  • The contractors that show up on time
  • The big repair that turns out to be minor

These moments are part of the path to success.

They don’t have to be directly related to business or income to count. In fact, most of your Proof It’s Working moments are likely to show up outside of business. Especially when you first start this process.

Step 2: Acknowledge them

I guarantee there are more things working in your life than you realize. However, if you don’t pause to notice them, your brain will skip right past it.

It’s normal, our brains are wired to scan for problems, not progress.

The good news is, that you can train your brain to look for progress first. And it’s easier than you might think.

Taking even a few moments to acknowledge the moment helps to rewire your brain. Bonus points if you write them down.

Step 3: Share them

Sharing your Proof It’s Working moments gives them power and increases their impact.

I’ve seen it many times in the group. Someone doesn’t feel they have anything to share, and while listening to someone else, they realize they had overlooked their wins.

When you share:

  • Your confidence grows
  • Your awareness increases
  • Momentum builds
  • Action becomes easier
  • You become a magnet for what you want
  • You move from hoping things will work out to trusting they will

Nancy and I talked about what it takes to move from hope to trust on this week’s podcast.

And if you’re ready to amplify your Proof It’s Working moments and find the ones you’ve been missing – round 2 of our group starts February 16th. Here’s the link to check it out and join the fun.

To your success!
Nicole

It’s Not Just Your Story – It’s Everyone Else’s Too

August 28, 2026

I’ve spent years working on my own limiting beliefs — but I discovered one at the Abraham Hicks workshop last weekend that I had completely missed. Esther, aka Abraham Hicks, has been a leader in mindset, energy, and attraction for decades. My mom actually took my sister and me to a workshop 30 years ago,…

Bet On Yourself VS The Market

August 21, 2026

Last week I shared how the end of August is a weird time – wanting to savor summer, while also shifting back into work mode. Turns out I’m not the only one this happens to! Thank you for all of the notes and feedback. I’ve found that when I’m not taking action, I spend WAY…

I Used To Dread The Last 2 Weeks Of August

August 14, 2026

Thirty years in real estate has taught me a lot of things. One of the best is this: I can finally see my own patterns. Like the one where I get twitchy every year mid-August. Part of me wants summer to stretch on forever. Part of me is itching for routine, order, and the satisfaction…

Beliefs = Actions = Results – It Matters Where You Start

August 7, 2026

August is an interesting month for me. I’m savoring the relaxed pace of summer, while also starting to think about Fall and shifting back into work mode. With a shift in focus I naturally start wondering what will happen. Will I be busy? Where will my clients come from? Will they be buyers or sellers?…

What Do You LOVE About Your Business?

July 24, 2026

I’m back!!! There’s been a lot going on lately, (more on that in a later post) and it’s been a few weeks since I’ve sent you a note. Needless to say, I’ve missed you! I’ve been moving through a lot of ‘life’ lately, and there’s been a common thread in my business that has surprised…

How Do You Want Summer To Feel?

June 19, 2026

Summer is often a season of expectations not meeting reality. I used to think my perfect summer meant iced tea on the patio while reading every day. For the record, that’s never happened. And for a while, I felt bad about it — like I was missing out, like I was doing summer wrong. Until…

You’re Not Behind, There Are Infinite Options

June 12, 2026

Your in box is about to fill up with emails about us being 1/2 through the year. You know – the ones that ask if you’re on track with your goals, and offer a solution to whip you into shape for the next 6 months. If you are having a great year – I celebrate…

Letting Go Of The Hustle Sounds Great, But You’ve Got a Business To Run

May 29, 2026

To be clear, I am 100% for less hustle, more flow, manifesting, receiving, regulating my nervous system, and letting things be easier. But somewhere between: “That sounds amazing” and “I’m a real estate agent – I need to generate clients and sell houses to earn an income” Things can get confusing. Because no matter how…

The Beauty of Not Doing It Alone

May 22, 2026

Thank you for being part of this community! I learned something beautiful and powerful last week. It was vulnerable to post about recalibrating, and being in the messy middle of grieving. Yet the conversations, emails, texts and notes have meant to much. To know that we are not alone is one of the greatest gifts…

Recalibrate In a Business That Runs 24/7

May 15, 2026

It happens to me every year about this time. The need to recalibrate. In a business that can run 24/7 – it’s easy to look up one day and realize, your batteries are drained and there’s no break in sight. Side note – It doesn’t have to be a 24/7 thing, but that’s a topic…
