Pretty Good Is Better Than Great

I’ve been in full creative mode this week as I work on new classes and masterminds for the Fall. And in true fashion – I fell into the cycle that many do when they are creating something new:
- This is awesome
- This is hard
- This is crap
- I am crap
- This might be okay
- This is awesome

We want to produce something great. It’s because we care and we want it to be impactful. But in striving to be great we get stuck and often never launch. How many ideas have you had business or otherwise that never turned into anything because you got stuck in the planning process trying to make it great?
And then there’s the whole – what happens if you decide it’s great and others don’t?
There’s a lot of pressure that comes with being great.
But what if you launched when things were pretty good?
They would still get results for you and help others. And, you would have the added benefit of being open to change and input. It would mean you could adapt and evolve. It could morph into something bigger and better than you ever thought possible. All because you were willing to start with pretty good.
It takes the pressure off. It gives you a place to start. It allows you to get results.
So whatever project you seem to be stuck on. Ask yourself, is it pretty good? Could you start with what you have now and adjust as you go?
You can’t change the world if you keep all of your ideas to yourself.
