When To Let It Be and When to Course Correct

IMG_2381

I’m over here at my Dad’s still this week. I’ll be here for a total of 11 days. I love the time with him, but his internet is the WORST. I’m actually using my phone as a hot spot to write this post because the internet is so unstable.

I’m all for taking time to unplug and the Universe has funny ways of giving us what we need, but this is getting a little nuts.

His internet has never been great, but we aren’t usually here this long and we often stay at a VRBO nearby, so it’s never been a big deal.

Whenever the topic of his internet comes up he says ‘that’s all that’s available here’. Which I knew could not be true, but I just let it ride. It’s his house, if he’s not worried about it I won’t, etc. But on day 6 his problem became my problem and it was time for a change.

So we called the neighbors and found out who their internet provider is and are getting it switched over.

It got me thinking about the scenarios in our lives that hold us back and slow our progress that we just accept as ‘that’s just the way it is’ without ever really putting effort into finding other solutions.

And sometimes there are really easy solutions out there – like call the neighbor to find out who their internet is.

And so that is my encouragement to you. Get clear on what your ‘internet factor’ is. That thing that just is. That you tolerate. That you assume you can’t change.

Then talk to people about it. Not in a whinny complaining way. In a – hey I’m struggling with X, how have you handled it? Sometimes the solutions are easier than we realize.
