Your Business Is Meant To Support Your Life Not BE Your Life

Here’s what most agents think when they get into real estate: This is going to be amazing! I now have unlimited income potential, the ability to set my own hours, and live a great life.
And then one of two things usually happens:
You either get busy and push off life until things calm down with work.
Or
You are too afraid to get a life because you aren’t busy and need to be available just in case someone calls.
In either scenario, your business has become your life.
If you respond to every invitation to do anything outside of work with ‘I’m a solid maybe, it just depends on whether or not my clients get back to me’ your business has become your life. And that’s not okay.
For the record, this can happen even when you love your business. Mine has always been based on referrals, which means I genuinely like my clients. Meeting with them isn’t a chore. Yes, it’s centered around buying and selling real estate, but we also laugh, have fun, and get to know each other. But that’s still not a life.
I’ve talked to so many agents lately who are in this cycle, knowing something needs to change, but not sure how.
Most trainings default to:
Hire a team if you are busy – or – do more marketing and networking if you’re slow.
If neither of those options seem right for you, and make you want to take a nap, there’s good news! There is another way.
Which is why I created Prosper, my mastermind for real estate agents that starts October 16th. These are the types of things we cover.
- How do you get your life back while still making the money that your life requires?
- How do you get present with the ones you love confident that your clients will still be there for you?
- Can you really take time off whether it’s one night for dinner, a weekend for a baseball tournament or a week for a vacation and not have to hire a team?
The answer to all of these is yes. It’s how I run my business, and I’ve been leading masterminds and teaching others how to do the same for years.
So if you’re ready for different conversations that lead you back to creating the business AND life you set out to when you started in real estate, I invite you to join us for Prosper.
